Clay

 Clay Project: 

Description: For this project, we were given small balls of clay and we had to toss the piece of clay on the table to get the air bubbles out of the clay. After we did that, we formed a ball and pinched the clay ball into a small pot. When we made our clay pots, we took the leftover clay that we had and formed rolls of clay. With the rolls of clay, we spread the clay out to form leaves. When we had our leaves and pot all done, we then took a toothpick and scored the leaves and the pot on the spot where we were going to attach them together with water. Finally, the leaves were attached to the pot, and we were able to paint the leaves and the pot with paint that was given to us. 

Extension Activity: The students will create a clay monster after this activity and then they will have to write a short story about their monster, with details about the monster, where they live, what they like to do, and their favorite food.
